Do we have forever to make our decisions? Doesn't the experience of life teach us that opportunities expire? The Bible warns this way in Hebrews 9:27, “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.” This message is about that appointment with death and a decision that needs to be made beforehand.

What is the outcome of our salvation in Christ Jesus going to be? Will we be lounging on clouds playing harps? Will we be stuck in a repetitive worship service loop, something like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day? The Bible teaches that we will be ruling and reigning with Christ as kings and priests.

"Friendship with the world is hostility toward God” (James 4:4), but what is “the world?" In the Bible, the world often refers to a thinking and way of life that is defiant and contrary to God. In this chapter, we see God's continued judgment against Babylon, which is the epitome of “the world” in scripture.
