Sermon Notes

Summary:

In the previous chapter we ended with the implementation of a global ID system commonly known as “The mark of the beast.” In chapter 14, we will see a series of snap shots of events that do not occur in any particular order. These pictures include a victory celebration, a series of angels giving warnings to the earth, and two final harvests of the earth’s population including the armies of the Battle of Armageddon.

Key Points:

  • Caution on overthinking things the Lord does not clearly and intentionally explain in scripture. He is not crystal clear on who the 144,000 who are with Him in His victory parade, but we know for sure that all the saints will be with Him…so rejoice and the rest will become clear later.
  • God knows our future history before it happens, so He sends three angels with specific messages giving Him credit for what is going to happen preventing people from accepting the lies of popular culture including: Crediting God with Creation vs. evolution, The judgements being poured out vs. being the result of man-made global climate change, and refusing to worship the beast by accepting his mark vs. going with the flow and following the culture.
  • We also should resist the cultures influence in our lives and instead challenge and correct it. For example, correcting “gender fluidity” with the truth of Genesis – that God made them specifically male and female, correcting atheistic evolution with the truth of Genesis – that God created everything, and correcting the lies of CRT with the truth that we are new creations in Christ, old things have passed away, behold all have become new.
  • Lastly, Jesus is returning for the battle of Armageddon and will destroy all the opposing armies and people who stand in His way. He will rescue the persecuted Jews revealing Himself to them as their Messiah, and stop at Jerusalem for His victory parade.
